My name is Muhammad Azam. I am a fourth year undergraduate student within the University of Regina.
Some of my hobbies that I enjoy consist of working out/regular physical exercise, swimming, biking, watching TV-series/Netflix, playing video games, and reading. Other than that I work part-time & I am a food insecurity volunteer for a volunteering organization that aids in serving meals & food hampers to needy individuals in the downtown region of Regina.
I have a great amount of experiences with respect to technology. I enjoy playing video games, so with this I am quite technological. I know how to use multiple consoles, I am also confident with regards to using computers, phones, tablets, etc. When the COVID-19 pandemic came, I started using zoom for online and remote courses. In the beginning, it was quite difficult to get used to. As time progressed, I started getting used to it through instructional tutorial videos found on YouTube and just simply by using the application constantly.
Hi Muhammad. Last year I tried out the app MEMRISE to help me learn Italian. Its quite different than duolingo, and there were features that I really liked! It uses a lot of video footage of different people speaking words, so you can hear how a word sounds when different speakers use it. It helps you not only learn the words, but also train your ear to hear the words. I’d highly recommend it as another free app to try out.
Hey Shaunna, thanks for providing a new software application. I will most definitely download this digital tool not only for this learning journey, but for the future as well.
I really appreciate the fact that on the above-mentioned app you shared, that is provides videos as I am a visual and pictorial learner.
I think that’s awesome that you are learning a new language and planning a study abroad trip! I liked the information that you provided about Duolingo. I will know where to go if myself or students want to learn another language.
