Children’s Books To Help You Learn

I decided to use Read Alouds, which also has ASL featured in videos on EdPuzzle, such as the ones I have linked below:

“Hey, That’s My Monster!”

“How I Met My Monster”

“Knuffle Bunny”

“How The Elephant Got Its Trunk”

Check out the video below to see what signs I learnt this week.

My feelings on the ASL Story EdPuzzle Videos

  • Information – 2/10
  • Engagement – 6/10
  • Comments – The way EdPuzzle is set up, it is much more interesting and engaging. The videos would stop and ask questions to check your understanding, and I found that extremely helpful because it allowed me to stop and think for a minute before continuing on in the video. However, in some of the videos I watched the book was only read in sign language and not out loud so I learnt fewer signs from those videos. So overall, the EdPuzzle features were helpful, but the videos I chose were not.
  • Overall Rating – 4/10

I also wanted to mention that I tried out Microsoft’s Clip Champ to make my progress video this week. It was quite easy to use despite my usual struggle to make/create/edit videos using other tools. You cannot use it on Safari. You need google chrome. I was able to add background music, transitions, and text. I found it helped my video and was super easy to use!
