Before you read farther, be warned there are massive spoilers in this edit and blog post for the 2023 Five Nights At Freddy’s movie <3.
//I really liked the movie and watched it literally 20 times within the first week after I saw it in theatres//.
This edit was supposed to be quick and easy. It was simple, but there were a lot of steps and took me 4.5 hours so far. I still plan to edit transitions on the clips and do text transitions too.
I let trial and error be my teachers this time, and played around with different sequences. This was super useful, actually. What I did was put the file for the whole movie in Sequence 1, and clipped the scenes I wanted. Then I stole scenes from Sequence 1 and built my edit in Sequence 2. This was so much better than constantly having to shift my clipped scenes out of the way of the edit I was building as I had been doing previously.
I will definitely be taking advantage of the sequencing option for the rest of my time using this software.
//Spoilers begin now!!//
I edited the kids and their animatronics in death order, according to the 8-bit animation in the beginning of the movie. Thanks to Five Nights At Freddy’s Wiki for giving me this idea.
//I had mentally prepared to put Garret in the edit first, since he was likely Afton’s first kill, but I forgot to write him down on my list, and only realized after I had edited up to Bonnie, so I decided to put him after the ghost children. He also didn’t fit the format cause he doesn’t have an animatronic assigned to him. I played with the idea of adding him in with the blonde boy for Golden Freddy (cause book/game lore), but there was less ‘space’ than I was expecting (in the edit, timing-wise). I suppose I could’ve done a half-screen, though…//
I’m gonna cheat a little by doing plain clips this week then transitions for next week, ’cause I’m a week behind uploading posts and super behind in other courses. Please give me grace for this.
//If you like my edits, I may create a TikTok account specifically to post edits, but we’ll see…//
I wasn’t planning on doing two Hollywood Undead audios back to back, but I heard “I Don’t Wanna Die” (this edit’s audio) while driving and couldn’t get this idea out of my head; so you get two Hollywood Undead audios back to back. 🙂
There’s a glitch at 9.5ish seconds, but Imma just pretend like that was on purpose, ’cause I don’t have an explanation for how it got there, and it kinda fits FNaF’s theme.
I tried a different way of captioning, it did not work and I had to caption it manually anyhow. That took fifteen minutes, for a 44 second edit.
Anyhoo, I hope you like the edit //lmk if you got jumpscared by balloon boy, 1/2 of my friends did//
