For my visual representation, I drew an eye.
Surrounding the eye are different situations that I have come to notice throughout my Journey to Reconciliation. The inside of the eye is interchangeable to showcase different steps along the way. The first one is to showcase Residential Schools; I chose to put the crosses on the bottom by the school to represent the unmarked graves that were found. The second one is a recreation of a drawing of Turtle Island to represent the story Sky Woman. This is a great traditional Indigenous story that I found to resonate with me and is a large step in my journey. Lastly, I have one to show that
I’m on a Journey.
I found this visual is a great way for me to continue tracking my journey and there could always be more pieces to add to the eye as I come across new knowledge!
