The Moving Part of Being Healthy

Hi, for this week I wanted to explore and talk about the exercising part of my healthy routine. I use ExRx.net, which is a database full of exercises.  Since I have been pretty sick these past few weeks, I am mainly doing some at-home cardio.  Today’s exercises were a short run on a treadmill for 15 mins, followed by some warmups like butt kicks, high knees, side shuffles, then into some cardio and abs exercises, like planks, burpees, pushups, and sit-ups.

Afterwards, I used a jumping rope to cool down and learned some neat tricks from this YouTube video called 16 Jump Rope Tricks From Beginner to Advanced by fightTIPS. I could only get a few before I started coughing (sick) and exhausting myself.

I found ExRx.net pretty fun and easy to navigate. I love the simplest design of the site, the videos it has accompanied with exercises, ways to evolve specific exercises and other similar exercises you can do. I’ll be making weekly workouts with this site and knowing the forms of how to do specific workouts is a big help since it is very easy to injure yourself with the wrong form.

ExRx.net also provides diet tips which I plan to look into in the future but dieting isn’t a concern to me or something I am looking towards as I just want to be healthy and not looking to lose weight or gain a lot of muscle. There is a lot more to the site that I didn’t have a chance to look at and some of those I am curious about are “psychology”, and “expert talks”. They seemed out of topic for now so I avoided them. I definitely recommend trying ExRx.net out if you are looking for exercises and the correct way to do them.
