A Tale of a Common Girl (not so common)
When I was a little girl, everybody called me a social-butterfly. It never felt difficult to talk with strangers. My mom said whenever she was late to pick me up from the school, she found me hanging around in the teachers room and I was singing or reciting for my teachers. As if I was born to become an entertainer!
There is a saying, “If you want to make god laughs, tell him about your plans”. Well I think god must have pretty good laugh, huh? I wanted to become a singer but I became a doctor instead. I studied medicine and along the way I left my first love, passion….singing.
I found a new desire to become a physician to help people. It was a difficult journey yet worth all the sleepless nights, when I saw my patients got better and smiled at me. At the same time I worked in a well reputed pharmaceutical company as a trainer in human resources department (HRD) in Bangladesh. During my career as a physician I observe, patient does not get well only because of medicine but they also need compassion and good health care system. I realized the strength of proper use of andragogy and HRD practices in health care system. It can improve the service of the health care providers and also well being of the whole community. I participated numerous training programs in many countries including, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, France and many more for career development.
Fast forwarding to the present, I have enrolled for masters in Adult Education and Human Resources Development in the University of Regina. I had a strong feeling that the knowledge and experience of this program would allow me to grow and enrich me and it certainly did in many ways. I have learnt quite a lot from large group of people I met here. Like new technology, ideas, unique experiences of the classmates and especially from the teachers.
One thing I must say taking Ed-Tech class was one of the best decision. This taught me how to blog and I have started one. I am sure whoever is reading already know that this is definitely my first attempt. Well better late than never. See you next time.
This is very simple and enjoyable read about your travel as a professional all the way from Bangladesh to Canada! I hope that you find the career you have worked so hard for!
