As an aesthetic representation of the Journey Towards Truth and Reconciliation, wanted to create a visual of the quote “as long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the river flows”. Its a quote originally made describing the promises made in treaties, but it means something different today. The truth is, those promises were broken, if even truly and properly granted in the first place. That is kind of what this whole journey towards truth and reconciliation is about. It’s about now upholding those those promises, and doing everything that can be done to be better. It’s something that holds incredibly true for educators especially. We as educators have in important part of each of our students own journeys to reconciliation, we have to properly educate them, to show them why it is important. And that education has to continue for the next generation, and the the next. For “as long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the river flows.”
