Hello! My name is Brielle Roy and I am in the Secondary Education Program at the University of Regina, with a major in Social Studies and a minor in Health.
I was born and raised in Swift Current Saskatchewan, and have now moved to Regina. I come from a family of 5, which includes my mother, father, and two older brothers. I have a 6-year-old daughter named Ariel, who has an X chromosome deletion. I am very thankful for my entire family and all the support they have given me.
My friends are also a huge and important part of my life. After high school graduation in 2015, my friends and I all went in separate directions. Currently my two closest friends from high school live in Medicine Hat Alberta and Saskatoon Saskatchewan. We get together when we can, and keep good communication. My friends are there for me whenever I need them, as I am for them, and we all constantly learn from each other.
I am thankful for the amazing friends I have made in regina.
In my spare time I love to read. If I open a novel I will not put it down until I have finished it the same day. I love being outdoors, especially going for hikes or playing basketball. Baking is what I do most often. I love to bake anything, but usually always have cheesecake or cookies on hand! I also love to cook, especially trying to make a meal without a recipe.

I have had many different jobs in my 24 years, my favorite being when I worked as a continuing care assistant. My residents were like family, and they really helped me to overcome some of my social anxiety. When I had my daughter I could not continue to work night shifts, so I then moved on to working as a member advisor with Innovation Credit Union. This was a good opportunity to learn about different jobs in the financial world, but I knew it was not right for me. Once Covid hit, my daughter could not stay in daycare, and as I stayed home I really concentrated on finding my true passion. I am now starting my journey to becoming a teacher, as I have a passion for helping others, continually learning, and making sure students have a learning environment where they all feel safe and excited to learn.
I have created an about me poster for students and families below.
