Autobiographical Paper

Here is a portion of the Autobiographical Paper I wrote for ECS 101

I knew over that year what I was excited to begin, and that was the next chapter of my life, studying to become a teacher. Now in saying that I know it is a long road ahead, but I’m excited to learn about the art of teaching and the different morals, methods and strategies there are to teaching. I know there are many things I need to improve and learn such as lesson plans, controlling a classroom and dealing with the endless possibilities of scenarios that can arise at any moment in time. The one thing I know will be the biggest learning curve but I know is unavoidable is the proper procedure to discipline students properly to the action they may offend. I’ve seen an array of different scenarios where I may as a teacher at this point have no clue how to react but I am prepared to be ready when that day comes.

I am excited for many different aspects of teaching however. I cannot wait to teach students and learn from them too how they prefer to learn. I would like to implement as many effective teaching methods to meet the needs of all students. Not to knock any of my teachers in the past but some had worked for me and not others or vice versa, and I would like to effectively teach as many students as possible. Now saying that I know it’s easier said than done but I know many people I went to school with over the years would dread the part of the day where a class was made a drag for them based off of the teacher alone. I would like to at least make an enjoyable and healthy environment for students to be able to learn and express themselves as easily as possible while still being able to learn what they need to.
