Strategies of Teaching

Walk and Talk – Get the students up and moving by allowing them to walk around and continue the discussion happening in class.

Kitchen Table Groups – Get the students to move their desks to create a “kitchen table” and discuss.

Movement Breaks – Students need a break in class time every 20 or so minutes to recharge and get the jitters out! Create/find a short game or activity that will get your students up and moving.

GoNoodle Videos – Perfect for young students to get them moving and grooving! https://www.gonoodle.com/for-educators

Technology in the Classroom – Allows students to explore on their own. Brings a variety of options for learning into the classroom.

Kahoot! (or other interactive quizzes) – Can provide a more fun, interactive way of taking assessments or getting students more engaged in what they learned.

Incorporating Quiet Time/Reflection Time – Give students the opportunity to think and reflect on what they just learned. Allow students to take a moment in their day to take a quick, quiet break to recharge and get ready to learn more!

Hands on Learning – Get your students involved in what they are learning through different activities that immerses them in the content. It may also keep the students more engaged in learning.
