Esports:

Not known to many people, Esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and I have the absolute pleasure of helping develop that industry in Western Canada. My friends and I run a company that facilitates competitive and casual gaming events to all ages alike. From spectating to participating, we look to give an enjoyable experience to everyone that attends or watches from their comfort of their homes. We have hosted events in venues such as the University of Regina, West Edmonton Mall, Sasktel Centre, and the Queen City Expo! The greatest thing to come out of it is the vast community we have built with people form coast to coast, as well within different countries who come to compete or just find other to play games with as well. With many of our youth growing up with access to such competition and career opportunities, I believe it’s important as a future educator to inform and facilitate those unfamiliar to see the validity of such ventures and break the negative stereotypes around gaming.

This opportunity has also allowed me to work with such great causes with such organizations as Extra life, which is an international event where people gather together to raise money for children’s hospitals around the world. We have been fortunate enough to run our own event and participate with other events to raise money for our Local Jim Pattinson’s Children’s hospital.
