Adding movement into your daily routine has been proven to provide both physical and mental benefits. According to the article Exercise and Mental Health by Mikkelsen et al., they state “that exercise can alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress states. It is clear that exercise improves mental well-being and is a viable preventative or adjunct treatment option for improved mental health outcomes.” (Mikkelsen et al., 2017, pg. 54). Alongside the previously stated, incorporating some movement into your day allows you to take a step back from work, and do something that benefits you. This can be used to as time to mentally reset and recharge. The purpose of this page is to reiterate the fact that when you’re feeling good, you are most like able to flourish as your most authentic self.

YMCA of Regina

The YMCA of Regina and Moose Jaw offers various different fitness programs that are included within your membership, alongside regular access to the gym. A lot of the locations include steam rooms, showers, and locker rooms. Many of the equipment pieces have screens that allow you to watch TV or movies, which could be shown as a great self-care option if you enjoy watching shows as a way to treat yourself, while also getting exercise in.
