Student Engagement Activities

Whether you’re creating your own, or borrowing from other teachers, the following resources will aid you in ramping up your lessons to keep students engaged, test their understandings, while also keeping the joy of learning alive.

Kahoot

Kahoot is an online quiz platform, where students can answer the questions as multiple choice to gain points. They will gain points based on accuracy, and their progress will be shown on the leader board as the game is presenting. You can create your own Kahoot content and add images to make it custom to your lessons. If you are running behind, use te search bar to find pre-developed Kahoots that match the content you are planning for.

Blooket

Blooket is very similar to Kahoot, however there are more game options! You can input your content, and choose which game platform will best work for your group of students. My favourite is gold rush! Along with Kahoot, this platform also allows your to sift through the pre-made Blooket’s to match to your content.

Menti Metre

Menti Metre is a poll based site that allows you to post a prompt, and have students answer it online. It has multiple different options of how you can receive the answers such as a word cloud, short answer, or classic poll. It is a fun way to activate the students knowledge of a topic youre introducing!
