Hello! My name is Camryn Erickson. I am 21 years old and I am currently working towards my Bachelors of Education with the end goal of becoming an early years teacher. I was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba and I moved to Regina in August of 2021 to begin my university journey! I was originally enrolled in the pre-social work program, but I quickly realized when I got a job working with children, that my passion lies elsewhere. I switched faculties and now I am extremely excited to see what my future in education holds for me!
My biggest inspirations and supporters in my life are my family. Growing up, we have always been extremely close and have always counted on one another. My mother, Christy, is the strongest women I have met in my life and continues to inspire me everyday. My father, Jamie is extremely hardworking and passionate about everything he does. I have two younger siblings. My sister, Caitlyn is 13 years old and my brother, Mason, is 7 years old. These two are a key influences in my wanting to become a teacher. Being around children for a majority of my lifetime has made me realize how fascinated I am by them and that I want a future career educating the youth. Each member of my family is special and inspirational in their own ways and for that I am overly grateful.
I enjoy travelling as frequently as I can. Whether it is a simple road trip or a more extravagant journey, I am always keen to do so. Growing up, I did not travel much, so moving to a new city, I am surrounded by places that are new to me. I love going to places that allow me to be outdoors such as a lake, or the mountains. I hope in the future I have the opportunity to travel more!
