The Six Sides of Learning

For my Summary of Learning, I decided to incorporate my speedcubing project into the style for my video reflection.  First, I recorded the audio for each “side” or section that I wanted to talk about.  Then I used InShot to record 6 short videos.  When making the videos, I uploaded the audio first and then arranged my screenshots and videos to match the audio.  This was much easier than trying to match the audio to the visuals.

The last step was to link the 6 videos together with a transition video that I duplicated to reuse for each transition.   I was surprised how many steps were involved in the making of the short videos.  I was uploading, downloading, changing extensions, adjusting clips, and taking screenshots.  The project was a lot of fun to put together and I felt a real sense of accomplishment at the end but I definitely have a new respect for content creators and the amount of work that goes into each video!

Thank you to Katia and my classmates for traveling on this learning journey with me this semester!

What a neat idea Carol, to arrange your summary of learning in a cube theme. I enjoyed this video, and I also enjoyed watching your speed cubing journey. Like you mentioned in your video, how cool is it that you have it documented this way!
I am confident you will break that one minute mark. 🙂

  2. What a fabulous way to wrap things up, Carol! My son was in awe of your video…and desperate to get into “speed cubing” (he didn’t even fully realize it was a thing before your blog posts this term). I feel you on the multiple steps it can take just to make ONE video – but I’m so glad it turned out well for you. I hyperlinked one of your blog posts in my summary of learning “Choose Your Own Adventure” Genially, talking about projects I really enjoyed learning more about. I hope you don’t mind! “Better to ask forgiveness”….and all that. Best wishes!

Wow Carol so much for you to be proud of! I as well have really enjoyed following along on your journey. I have never been one for speed cubing (simply because like our students, I don’t overly love doing things I don’t excel at), but I found myself really wanting to try again as an adult after watching your journey. Thank you so much for taking us along on the ride. Fantastic work!
