Who is, Where, and Why there?
Read below for a dip into for Ana Hidalgo’s Human Geography Class:
After doing the mapping for one meal it has made me question everything I thought I knew about where my food comes from! In the summer I always tried to buy fruit from the fresh fruit stands and I always have attempted to grow my own. I always buy all my groceries from my local independent store. After doing the research for my project I found that Loblaws seems to try to keep its meat very local and from Canadian farms for the most part.
I would really like to work with a program at some point to help clean up the oceans from all of the waste. There are some great programs out there, these are a few I have looked into:
Some of the things I’ve been personally working on to help reduce my impact is always using reusable straws, no straw, or paper straws. I have also really tried to reduce the amount of garbage we produce in my household, along with recycling as much material as I can.
