Decoding Ed. Tech. A Personal Slant!!!
“Technology will not replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers can be Transformational”- George Couros.
Throughout my academic journey, my attention span lagged, manifesting disinterest in lengthy lectures. I found myself frequently disengaged and bored, unable to endure more than 30 minutes of classroom monotony. However, a crucial twist arrived during middle school when my science teacher introduced to us an overhead projector (O.H.P.). This technological marvel sparked a newfound thrill within me. Finally, I could engage my senses more actively, and my educational trajectory was forever altered. This initial rendezvous with technology has left an indelible mark, shaping both my educational history and my present experience.
According to Tony Bates – Educational Technology. Technology’s role in education has witnessed a dramatic change over 2,500 years, . Initially oral, relying on memorization, ancient Greeks used speech for learning. The evolution from slate boards to overhead projectors, and educational tools emerged for diverse purposes. Telecommunications, video-conferencing, and lecture capture followed. Written communication’s importance expanded through the printing press and much more…
In the grand medley of educational technology, composed across centuries, the apparent trends that have unfurled are nothing short of brilliance. I assume it is the relentless march of technology, the boundless expansion of the human mind, or perhaps the consortium fusion of education, technology, and the sheer audacity of imagination that has given rise to these wonders.
Whatever transcending forces are at play, the transformation witnessed is awe-inspiring. It is a symphony where the advancements in technology frisk harmoniously, with the evident evolution of the human intellect. This extraordinary culmination has orchestrated tremendous shifts through the past, turning the once-unreachable into the now-attainable. The world, once vast and distant, now lies within the grasp of every seeker, and every dreamer, as education and technology, hand in hand, continue to sculpt a reality that surpasses the limits of imagination.
