You’re right, using screencasts, once you get the hang of it, is extremely effective. I find it allows me to model things exactly as I would like them to be seen and performed, as opposed to leaving things open for interpretation. They worked well for me teaching elementary school students at the opposite end of the city how to use Google classroom and Read&write.
