- I believe in relationships. I will build solid relationships with my students; I will show passion for their interests, in and out of school. I will show care and compassion when needed. I will spend time, listening to and learning about each unique student. I will give respect to earn respect.
- I believe differences are beautiful. I want my classroom to be a safe, welcoming environment for my students where they feel at ease. Every student comes with a different set of skills and knowledge and I will highlight upon this. I commit to teaching in different ways, so all students have the opportunity to learn. I will work to grow a community in my classroom in which students acknowledge and accept the differences and similarities in our safe space. My classroom will be a safe community with a diverse population that are all accepted.
- I believe you learn from mistakes. I will encourage children to try different things even if they fail at first. I will teach children that mistakes are okay, and we can learn and grow from them. I will show children that learning can be frustrating, fun, intense, and scary but in the end, learning will benefit each student. I want students to leave my classroom excited to talk about what they have learned.
- I believe technology is useful. I will incorporate technology in a positive manner in my classroom. I will teach students to use technology safely. I will show students that technology is a magnificent tool when used positively.
- I believe in collaboration. I will take advantage of the multitude of lessons available to me, incorporating my own twist on all these lessons. I will continue to read other pedagogical philosophies and alter or add to mine regularly. I will share my opinion, values, and philosophies so fellow colleagues can learn from me as I learn from them.
- I believe in global citizenship. Every student has a right and responsibility that comes with being on this earth. I will encourage students to be involved and look towards their global society to collaborate.
