Literacy

Literacy is something I am very passionate about. I particularly have immersed my reading instruction practice to align with the science of reading. The literacy model I follow is a modified daily five with alliances to the Saks Reads Model and the science of reading. My writing instruction is more unit based (e.g., what is descriptive writing) and also has connections to the science of reading in my spelling program. Moreover, I also incorporate story workshop into my writing units, along with writing workshops. I believe that literacy is essential, and I try to make my program fun, exciting, and obtainable for all learners.
