Equal Representation

When looking at the independent school called Ranch Ehrlo that I researched, I noticed that the school seems to consist of the same values in education that we have discussed in our ECS class. This school is very inclusive, which allows all students to be able to participate. The schools vision is to create communities where all individuals and families achieve their full potential. The staff at Ranch Ehrlo seem to really care about their students by providing numerous resources such as counselling services, family therapy, supportive housing and more! They listen and try to understand students, and by doing so they create an inviting space/environment. When it comes to sexuality and gender identity, Ranch Ehrlo encourages students to express themselves freely. A psychologist that works at Ranch Ehrlo started a support group for youth who identify as LGBTQQ. Ranch Ehrlo also acknowledges and honours cultural diversity. They do this by creating activities for students that celebrate and educate cultural differences and similarities. When I discussing independent schools with my classmates, Ranch Ehrlo seemed to be the most inclusive school to be researched. When I asked some of my classmates how their school was inclusive and demonstrated equal representation many of them said they didn’t see any information about their school on this topic.
