The prompt for this blog post could be a dangerous one, depending on the person writing this post. There are many rabbit holes someone could go down with an open ended question such as this. I’m going to focus primarily on digital footprint. I find this topic to be somewhat controversial as there is no
Digital citizenship is an important aspect of school for students (especially as they get older) to take into consideration. How we represent ourselves online can have a major impact on our lives and our futures. This is a bit of a grey area, because there has been so many advances and changes in technology and
This week, I put more focus on a social media platform I wrote about in a previous blog post that enables us to see other peoples ideas/examples/boards. The app I am speaking about is Pinterest. Pinterest is an online platform where people can post ideas, articles, examples of work they have done or they are
Our world changes real fast. I find it interesting how much technology has changed over time. With all the changes and the obsession of technology and social media makes it difficult at times in the classroom. With the amount of time children are using technology it has created students who have little interest in anything
For this blog post we were asked to try a new application that we have not used before. When completing this task I originally tried Canva, but I was not very happy with the result, so I made the decision to switch applications and I used ScreenCastify.
This application would be useful in a classroom to record any instructions or examples of information learned during a lesson. If the lesson involves computers or smart board a teacher has the ability to record using the ScreenCastify app. as examples for students who were not present during the lesson. These videos could be posted on the portal program (Google Classroom, EDSBY, etc.) for the students to use as a reference. If you as the teacher have the time and ability, ScreenCastify could also be used to record information prior to the lesson with the purpose to be used as examples during the in class time.
For this post I used ScreenCastify to record the other application I’ve used during my learning project, SketchUp. I started my video with the SketchUp home page, afterwards I display both version of my kitchen, current and remodelled. I used the text feature on the app. to give brief description of what you are viewing in this video. I found this app quite easy to navigate through and straight forward to have a completed product.
