For this blog post, I’m going to talk about something that I’m planning on doing and describe how I’m completing this. This is something I am not going to do during this learning project as I do not have the time nor the finances to complete this right now. However, I will describe what I am going to be doing and how I would be doing it. I’m talking about moving the electrical for the switches and the outlets. In the original kitchen the wall separating the kitchen and the living room has 2 sets of plus on the living room side as well 2 plugs and 2 switches on the kitchen side.
When I decide to take the top portion of the wall out I want to have 3 pendant lights hanging down from the roof. The only issue is when I remove the wall the wiring for the plugs and switches will run through the wall. I have to figure out a way I can move that wiring so it is hidden and the wall is opened up. After conversations with my father (who had done a lot if home renos) and looking on Pinterest (which I speak about all the benefits of Pinterest in a previous blog post) I came up with a future plan on how I am going to move the wiring.
These 2 images are examples of what I am planning on doing to fix the wiring issue. I plan on running the wiring from the switches and plug down into the floor. Once the wires are in the floor I will create a circut with them and tie them to a junction box and back up through the wall into the roof. There will be a another junction box, this time the wiring will go from this junction box to the pendant lights handing. This was the switches and plug will all be functional and I will have opened up my kitchen wall.
