For this weeks post I wanted to go further with the design of my kitchen and see what my blueprint would look like with different paint colors on the kitchen walls, and the kitchen cupboards. I had an idea when deciding on what colors I wanted to use. For this post, I went online and found a paint simulator. It was difficult deciding which application or website to use. Most paint brands offered a paint visualizer and I figured these would be more legitimate then a random third party app.
I ended up using HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams. HGTV Home was a simple website to use, and I felt it was decently effective. With any of the simulators I tried this was the one that actually covered the existing paint with the new color and did a good job of giving a decent visualization of what the outcome would be.
If you look at the 2 pictures above the first image is the blueprint of what the kitchen looks like prior to adding paint. In the second image I have added as close to the existing paint color on the walls I could. In the original kitchen the cupboards were a wooden textured look. In my updated blueprint image I choose to paint the cupboards a dark navy blue. This was something I had seen while I was looking through cupboards on Pinterest as well I have been to peoples houses who had similar colored cupboards and I found them very intriguing.
This is something when completing a renovation that will completely change the look and feel of the room. A fresh coat of paint can complete the look of something,
