Below I have included my mapping introduction from ECS 303

My name is Desyrae Carstensen my pronouns are she and her. Firstly I am not a visual arts person at least not in the medium of drawing so my map is a bit rough proportionately and otherwise. My map is of my current neighbourhood which also happens to be my childhood neighbourhood as I live a few blocks from my dad’s apartment. My neighborhood is in Regina which is located on Treaty 4 territory. My favourite place on the map is a place I almost didn’t leave space for which is the 711 where I would go as a kid when I spent the weekends at my dad’s home. There are also baseball diamonds and a school near my house which are only notable to me because they have Pokemon Go stops which I used to play a lot with my older sister. A cool fact about my current house is there’s a baby apple tree in my backyard which was nearly taken over by tent caterpillars last summer but managed to survive which is amazing because I’m not great at taking care of plants. It is on this land that I have made many memories with people, places and the land itself since I was a young girl. I am incredibly grateful to live where I do and also acknowledge the privilege it is to be able to call Treaty 4 home.
