Hello and bonjour! 👋

I’m Dishant and my pronouns are they/he/she. I’m a 30-year-old educator originally from India.

Before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan in April 2024, I was teaching high school Chemistry and Math in Mumbai, India. My academic background is a bit of a mix — I hold a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering, and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Chemistry. Right now, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Education (Teaching, Learning, and Leadership) at the University of Regina.

Along with EC&I 831, I’m also doing my Capstone course. If all goes well, I’ll graduate in December and hopefully find a teaching or leadership role at the university level. In the meantime, I keep busy tutoring! I’ve been teaching for about seven years and currently work as a freelance tutor for Chemistry, Math, GMAT, and GRE.

In 2023, I began learning French on Duolingo, and one of my long-term dreams is to add it to the list of subjects I can teach. I am currently about half-way through the French course, so there’s still a long way to go! My ultimate goal is to reach a level of fluency that will allow me to settle in Montreal or Paris. ✨Big dreams, I know, but every journey starts with “bonjour.”

Outside of academics, I love to sing, write poetry, and listen to music. I’m also a huge Taylor Swift fan! So yes, the title of this post is a little nod to Anti-Hero.

Beyond the music, I admire her incredible business acumen, and I hope to bring the same kind of creativity and strategy into building my own online teaching platform someday.

This course feels like the perfect space to grow in that direction, and I’m really looking forward to learning from and with all of you!
