My first day in the classroom

On my first day I immediately fell in love with the classroom environment. The class full of grade 2’s looking at me felt so right and I knew right then that I absolutely joined the right field for me. The first day was mostly observing, but the kids were very excited to get to know my partner and I. The kids asked so many questions and were so energetic and happy. I am very excited to continue my placement.

My favourite highlight

I was able to help a student with multiplication today, and I felt so proud of him and satisfied when the “aha!” look appeared on his face. I was able to put my learnings from ECS 100 into place by giving the student a different method of learning that worked for him. This was a really cool experience for me because I got to see first hand evidence that all students learn differently
