About Myself

Hello!

My name is Emily Logan, I am a second year Education student at the University of Regina. The classes that I enjoy are Indigenous studies, and my ECE/ECS classes. I thrive most in the areas talking about social issues, and what’s going on in the world. I have always been a very big advocate for LGBTQ+ people, feminist issues, and cultural/racial injustices. When I was 12 I began volunteering at the Regina Humane Society, where I volunteered for five years. I now currently volunteer with Big Brother Big Sisters program in Regina. I really enjoy being outdoors and trying new things, I love hiking, skiing, and animals. I want to someday learn how to snowboard, surf, and try ski diving. I chose to join the education field because of the opportunity that it presents. I have always wanted to make a positive impact on the world, and I realized that an amazing way to do that is by educating the future generations. I hope to teach the future generation to be more environmentally conscious, to be kinder to animals, and most of all be more kind and understanding towards others. My family raised me to be understanding, and accepting of all. In my free time I spend most of my time with my friends and family. I have always really enjoyed travelling, and have been privileged enough to travel to many different places in the world, such as different countries in Europe, Cuba, Mexico, the United States, and many provinces in Canada. My favourite part of travelling is experiencing different culture. I am a huge fan of art, seeing different monuments, trying new foods, and experiencing what life is like in different parts of the world. My favourite places that I have been lucky enough to visit was Paris, York, and New York. I loved Paris because of the cities rich history and iconic art and monuments. I loved York, England, because it felt like a completely different world, it was very peaceful and beautiful, and felt much less crowded and busy. I loved New York because the city felt very alive, there were so many interesting people, and people come from all around the world to visit, and to migrate. Some places that I hope to visit are Australia and Poland. I have always wanted to visit Australia because of how outdoorsy it is. I would love to learn how to surf, and one day try scuba diving, and I feel as though Australia would be an amazing place to experience, it is my dream to someday be able to live in Australia for a few years. I want to go to Poland some day because it looks beautiful, and I love the culture in Europe, as well as I want to some day visit Auschwitz. I feel as though travel has played a very large role in shaping my world view; I have seen many places with so much variety in culture, and ways of living. I feel as though this has made me become a more tolerable, understanding person, and I am always excited to learn new things about people and places. I find history very interesting, and some of the things that interest me the most is the Titanic, World War II, and old buildings, monuments and art. I am joining this profession, not only to teach, but also to learn. I intend to learn from each student who enters my classroom, and understand and assist them in any ways that they need; and in turn they will teach me how to become a better educator, and learn new things.
