Learning Tools

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As a teacher it is our first priority to make sure our students can learn in anyway they need to understand the topic at hand. So in my future classroom I will have all sorts of tools, websites, and tricks for them when they need it!

+ TTS Reader, is a FREE text to speech reader, so you just import the writing in the text box; and it will speak to you out loud.  This is great for those who struggle with reading in their head, comprehension or self editing.  Incorporating in reading, writing, science is a huge game changer.  Save this link! https://ttsreader.com

+ Duolingo, is an app and online website that helps you learn terminology and sentence fragments in any global language. Duolingo is a great way to incorporate language in the classroom.  This could work in the classroom by having some “station time” where one of the station students can access duo lingo content through daily lessons and learn a language they are unfamiliar with.  Save this link! https://www.duolingo.com

+ Audio books, are another thing that can be extremely handy in the classroom. Especially if your students learn better by hearing and not just reading word by word.  Audio books can be found all over YouTube perfect for a quick learning break.

+ Search MooseClumps on YouTube and you will find catchy and hilarious songs perfect for a mini brain break in the classroom environment.

+ Dance breaks are a blessing in those tough, loud and super hectic moments in afternoon.  Danny Go and Jack Hartman are my go to!

+ Library books are the GOAT.  Greatest of all Time.

+ Sensory tools and fidgets, bubble poppers are great fidgets but sometimes something as good as a bendy straw or chip clip can be a great fidget.

+ Visual schedules are amazing for those who need to work on maintaining on task.  It helps students learn the life skill of staying on task and on schedule.

+ Incorporating students pictures in the classrooms.  Instead of labeling the majority of materials with a name tag, use a face tag.  This is a great thing for those who have a tough time reading.

+ Visual timers are fantastic, it shows students a visual section of time till the next activity. For example during my internship I would say “okay I am going to put five more minutes on our timer, then it is time to wash our hands for lunch!”

+ Checkmarks for the visual class daily schedule, you as the teacher are in charge of.

+ Choice boards for the purpose of flow and having the kids participating in making a choice.  It can be used in areas such as motor room and stations.

+ Communication boards are KEY!  THESE BOARDS ARE A TEACHERS ESSENTIAL!  Shown below is a communication board, these should be plastered around the classroom and worn a keychain by teachers.
