Casual Subbing as an Educational Assistants with Regina Public School
Early on in my four year long program, I almost immediately applied to be on the sublist and sub for educational assistants across classrooms in Regina Public School. As soon as it was possible I started picking up positions on the atrieve page.
When working as a sub for educational assistants I worked a lot in one-one scenarios with students, because they were the students who needed that extra boost and help in their day to day school life. For example, I did a week-long position at WF Ready in their Kindergarten classroom working with one student who just needed that extra support in their day.
During my time as a sub educational assistant, I would often specifically scope out positions available in intensive program classrooms primarily centred around the FIAP program both Jr and Sr. I also loved when I was involved in FTC classrooms and I always had a huge interest in DC classrooms as well. Ultimately FIAP was a huge comfort zone community for me, I loved working in this program’s classrooms because of the students!
During my second year of university, I was approached for a lengthy educational assistant position that became available. It was a two month long subcontract as a teaching associate in Pre K at WH Ford. Having this amazing opportunity was such a blessing, with meeting all these kids but also all of the learning that occurred during those two months.

I have had the honour to be a part of the staff at this local program since November of 2020. Since the beginning I have gone from helping out and working at the front as a greeter, to co teaching, teaching my own classes and leading the 4 and 5 year old classes for going on 3 years now! I love this job more than words can describe. I love being a part of these kids life and help them grow to be better sings but people too.
Private Tutoring
Tutoring students in my spare time has been something I have been doing since 2017 my grade 12 year. Back then I tutored a total of 1 student, who was a family friend. Now fast forward to present day I tutor a total of 6 students in my spare time. During my tutoring experience I primarily focus on skills such as reading, writing, comprehension, etc. I have helped my students become stronger writers, readers, spellers and students overall!
