Does Practice Really Make Perfect?

When learning a new skill everyone says practice makes perfect. This week I went into it saying “if I keep practicing I will become perfect.” However, this was not the case. After this week I still feel like I need a lot more practice

This Weeks Accomplishments

For my new online source that I learned from this week was YouTube. I watched many videos on tips and tricks that I helped me improve my techniques. I did not think that decorating sugar cookies was something that is as challenging as it was. It has posed me many challenges, especially because I have very shaky hands.

This week I continued to work towards my goal of making my outlining of my cookies smooth and where they are suppose to be and also work to create a flat smooth flood. I believe that after this week I have made progress towards meeting my goals.

This week I also taught myself the skill of using two colours to outline and flood my cookies. This was a little tricky to complete. It takes a very steady hand to make the two colours bud up right next to each other. Durning this process I scraped the icing off many, many times trying to get my lines to line up correctly. Although I found many challenges within the week I also feel like I learnt many new things as well.

Goals For Next Week

Next week I really want to focus on using a few different techniques. I want to learn a technique called wet on wet and another technique that is called wet on dry.

    Hi Emily,
Decorating sugar cookies is something I have always wanted to try. I think you are doing a great job! All of your cookies look delicious, and I really like the pineapple!
