New Learning
This week I wanted to focus most of my time on learning about different techniques that can be used with icing. There are 2 techniques that I mainly wanted to focus on which are called, a wet on wet technique and a wet on try technique. Both of these were something that I have never tried and was very interested to learn more about. While looking at the wet on wet technique I read an article from Your Baking Bestie, I found this to be a very useful reading and gave me an understanding on what the technique is and how I to get best results. For the wet on dry technique I read an article by The Sprinkle Factory that was very education and I felt gave me a good idea on what I needed to know for the technique I wanted to attempt.
This Weeks Accomplishments
This week, after I had done my reading and learning, I took the time to try both these techniques out! For the wet on try technique I tried many times and faced some challenges. I was not patient enough and never let the first layer dry before I added the next layer on. I always tried to rush putting the second layer on and this caused it not to sit nicely on top of the first layer. The wet on wet, was a lot easier for me. I found that mixing the icing was something that I found oddly satisfying and really enjoyed it. I made an ice cream cone that is inspired by tiger tiger ice cream and a pineapple that can show my new skills!
Next Weeks Goals
Next week I feel I am ready to put all my techniques and practice into a final cookie. I have a theme picked out and I am excited to show you all!
Come back next week to see what I have planned 🙂
Thanks for Reading!
