For my aesthetic piece, I decided to draw the seven teachings. On my journey to reconciliation, I think these seven teachings are essential. As the Indigenous people see everything as being interconnected, I saw my learning from this semester in the seven teachings.  Therefore, Indigenous people must be respected, and we must be nice and kind toward them. We must have the bravery to defend them and be truthful with ourselves about what happened, then the humility to admit our mistakes. By sharing our knowledge of previous actions and using the truth, we can improve the present.

In my art piece, you will notice that the turtle is in the middle and is larger than the other six teachings. I made the turtle like this because the seven-teaching explained that the turtle is crucial teaching because you need all the other six teaching to be truthful before anything else.
