Assessment Evidence
Formative Assessments (Assessment for Learning):

Observe students’ engagement and participation during the activity.

Ask open-ended questions during the lesson to assess students’ understanding of counting and number recognition.

Check if students can correctly count the pumpkins on their ten frames.

Monitor the use of strategies to solve counting problems.
Feedback will also be given during counting.

Class discussion will occur about counting.

Summative Assessments (Assessment of Learning):

Elaborate (20 minutes)

Have students work in pairs to count their pumpkins on the ten frames.

Encourage them to use strategies like pointing to each pumpkin or counting aloud.

Evaluate and Closure (5 minute)

As a formative assessment, check individual students’ ability to count and recognize numbers.

  1. Love these fall pumpkin activities! I also love how easy this lesson plan would be to use throughout the school year with different theming. Would I be able to steal this for future use?
