My Purpose And Personality

I am Ethan McAlpin, and my pronouns are he/him. I was born and raised in Saskatchewan and I love it here, but I hope to travel around the world one day. The world is full of excitement and knowledge. For this reason, I want to see many parts of Europe like Versailles, France and Rome, Italy. Spreading that knowledge and helping individuals find themselves in the process is my goal. If I can do this while explaining the important details of history to individuals, I am overjoyed.

I love electronics, art, and social studies. I hope to teach everything meaningful and give everyone a chance to inspire in fields they enjoy. As well, my experience reaches far beyond my degree. I have experience in the industrial professions, computer building, programming, and creative writing. I have trained people in multiple jobs before, and after returning to University, I found my purpose in being an educator. As an added bonus, I discovered my fondness for English. Earth has many areas individuals need to experience to find a purpose for themselves. I devote myself to helping these individuals, and I hope to impact many with my teachings. This factors into my aspiration to write novels. There are so many teachings that need to be taught, and I would like these ideas to stay around after I retire.

I am passionate about history, especially the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, World War I, and World War II. These events shaped the world, and it is the small details that we must know and acknowledge to advance our being. I hope to start every class with a new quote pertaining to the subject. I want students to understand the leaders’ minds during the events. It is only with this knowledge we can unlock the true intent behind these events, and by doing so, we can guide ourselves on a path that is beneficial for everyone.

As an individual, I find relationships to be important in society, which is why I try to spend much of my time with friends and family. I try to find connections with everyone and truly become interested in their experiences. We can discover many different things about ourselves and others by speaking and listening. For example, what was a revelation you came across while engaging in insightful communications? Did it change your life or perspective? Did you share this revelation with another individual? This is why relationships are critical, and I want to create an environment in which all students engage. I can play some calming music, many of Mozart’s works are my personal choice, and allow individuals to communicate with ease. This way, we learn respectfully and students are stressed less.

As mentioned above, I would choose to play some of Mozart’s calming music, but many other works are fine too. I enjoy all types of music because they all have their purpose. Rock is good for montages. Orchestra is unbelievably good at incapsulating emotion and purpose. As well, hip-hop seems to capture the issues of our current times. With Mozart, I particularly enjoy the complimentary feeling it offers reading.  Recently, reading and watching movies have become one of my favourite activities — other than playing video games — and I have taken a large interest in science fiction, fantasy, and the meaning of life.  My cat, Sylvie, normally joins me while reading and her picture is included in the “Animals” section of the website. While being immersed in the works, I have enjoyed analyzing the meaning and messages. I love the creativity and humanity these works display which captures the pure element of humanity. I will encourage students to do the same by exhibiting humanity and meaning in all their work.

On the topic of humanity and creativity, there is a picture of me dressed up for drama club on the pictures of “me” section of the website. I have appeared in several productions on stage, and I love theatre. Individuals can draw from emotions, creating a story for many to enjoy. Theatre brings different people together and causes relationships many might not expect. I do not only enjoy theatre but many clubs because these allow something other than assignments and the curriculum to grow character and foster connections. It is vital for people to make relationships outside of school, and clubs are an amazing start.
