Week Seven Biryani

Mutton Biryani:

For this week I am posting my traditional recipe called Biryani. This is my favorite recipe. We usually make it at the time of gatherings, festivals, or any function. I usually make a simple biryani that my elders taught me to cook. But today for the blog I wanted to learn a new original style of cooking biryani. In Swasthi’s Biryani, she has posted 3 types of biryani recipes. The first one was Hyderabadi Pakki Dum Biryani, the second one was Kacchi dum biryani and the third one is mutton biryani in a pressure cooker. For this blog post to learn a new recipe I made the third one which is mutton biryani in a pressure cooker. India has more than 36 states including union territories. Therefore each state has a traditional way to cook biryani.  For the purpose of the blog post, I chose Hyderbabi mutton biryani in a pressure cooker.

This post gave me a detailed description of marinating the mutton, how to cook mutton and make it tender and good to eat. How to cook rice in a proper way. All these tips were very important to make a perfect biryani in a pressure cooker.

It worked out very well and all the spices were mixed well and it turned out a traditional tasty biryani. I have added my pictures of cooking in a pressure cooker.
