One foot lies in the forest as the other presses down on pavement,
One step towards the unknown and the other firmly rooted in familiarity,
As the fires of time rage forward you are forced to choose,
Choose a fate unknowing filled with both promised potential and new pains both in hand,
Or choose to stay rooted and become ash for the new world to grow,
Halfway towards salvation and yet held back by unnecessary weight,
Learn to let go of that which binds you for an uncertain future,
Learn to unlearn that which prevents you from moving forward,
Push past the cement path that stands before you and find the tree’s again,
Let the fires of time burn away that which cannot be undone,
As the world you once knew turns to ash it fertilizes the ground,
And so something better can begin anew where imperfection once stood.
