Hello Everyone! I’m Gina and a proud Ghanaian . I had my bachelors in Geography and Resource Development with History back home and currently pursuing my masters in Social Studies. I have over three years experience in customer operations and social welfare services. With my experience in social welfare services coupled with my passion in assisting individuals, I have taken an additional role as a part-time educator with Play & Discover Daycare Center to gain more knowledge and experience in the field and I have loved to be with children ever since I joined the daycare. I thought I knew children very well until I joined the daycare. it has really been an enlightening and transforming moment for me. I have gotten to know a lot about children in terms of their development and how every child is unique and special in their own way. I sometimes even get amazed with the kind of questions the children ask and I wonder why society just see them as children because they are very intelligent and smart. Being in the day care has really shaped my personality as it has made me more caring and loving and above all be more patient and kind! because the little ones need to be cared for with a big heart. Whenever I do not got to work, I miss the children so much.
Living in Regina without family really gets disturbing and lonely sometimes so I try my possible best to get in touch with them as much as I can. I love to listen to music a lot especially when I am down because I belief in the philosophy that music speaks to the soul: it soothes me soo much whenever I am sad or down. The genre I dominantly listen to are afrobeat, hiplife and highlife tunes.
if one should ask me of my hobby, I would say I love to cook because I just cannot see myself eating food outside…which I think it was because of my upbringing because my mother would always prepare homemade meals (local foods like banku and tilapia, fufu, jollof rice and among others) in the house. I have been exploring different ingredients and recipes which is refining my taste buds.
One thing that keeps me going is that my tomorrow is always going to be better and greater than my today! and that giving up is not in my dictionary. I always thrive to achieve what I want and I know the sky is my limit. I dream big because I believe in the philosophy that” when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it ” by Paolo Coelho, The Alchemist.
