For this learning project I was inspired by TikTok. Now that I have started my learning project journey of course my TikTok is now flooded with crocheting videos. Which at times is exciting, but can be also annoying. A certain TikTok video did spark some excitement because I rushed to my yarn to try it. In my previous blog I had explained how I had learned how to do a single stitch crochet, this is still true although I thought I would spice it up. I learnt that there a variety of different variations of single stitch crochets and that it doesn’t always have to look one way. In the video it discusses four different variations; front loop only, back loop only, yarn under, and linked single. The variation I chose to do was a back loop only sing stitch. To do this the video explained that it requires only inserting the hook into the back loop of the stitch instead of the front and the back. The result of this stitching is a ribbed outcome, which I personally loved.
The video was fairly easy to follow along although did not give much information. It does require background information of how to throw a single stitch, which is key information.
Here is a little video of me throwing a back only single stitch.

Hope to see you here on my next blog. You never know what might spark my interest!

Hi Grace!
Tik Tok is such a useful app when it comes to learning new things! I understand how it can get annoying when something you get interested in takes over! crocheting is amazing as it gives you endless possibilities with so many beautiful stitches. I look forward to seeing some of your crochet creations. I look forward to popping in next week to see what you’ve learned.
