Reflecting on this semester, I began this journey with little to no knowledge about educational technology. Although as time progressed, zoom calls were had, and lots of blog posts later I can say that my confidence has grown. When comparing my first blog post to my last blog post, I am happy to see the growth that I have made and the confidence I have gained. Where has this confidence came from… I would like to say the exchange of knowledge between myself and my peers.
If you would like to see the growth of my blog posts here is my journey!
Week 1: Introducing my Learning Project
Week 2: One stitch at a time!
Week 3: A New Variation
Week 4: A Cheeky Magic Circle
Week 5: I conquered the Magic Circle!
Week 6: Am I turning into a Granny?
Week 7: Can AI help with my hobbies?
Final Post: Final Stitch…
Zoom Sessions
Zoom sessions were a place where I was able to converse with my peers about weekly topics, and they became a meaningful part of my learning experience. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in breakout rooms and sharing my thoughts, as it gave me the chance to hear different perspectives and build confidence in my own ideas. These discussions often helped me better understand the course content and apply it to real-life teaching scenarios.
Zoom also became a valuable source of inspiration for my weekly blog posts. I often took what I learned from our group conversations and reflected on it more deeply through my writing, which helped me solidify my understanding and connect it to my personal learning journey.
Weekly Comments
Weekly Comments created a space for me to talk with my peers about ideas, questions, comments or overall excitement about their blog posts. I was happy to see how others enjoyed my blog posts and was excited to see what they were going to say each week. Here are my comments;
Discord
Unfortunately I didn’t find much community within the discord because after I wrote my introduction post I wasn’t able to be much help to people questions. I did check the discord regularly but questions that were asked were questions I, myself struggled with. I am not technology literate so I struggled with concepts myself. I did try to reach out one time to see how everyone was feeling, although didn’t get an answer:(
As this semester comes to a close, I have grown appreciation for the time and effort my peers have made in creating relationships with each other. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from each other and I hope to see my peers in future classes!
