I LOVED THIS!!!!
I think it is so awesome getting to experiment with different tools online, AI being a big one. For this blog I experimented with animated drawings and let me tell you this definitely up my alley.
To take you through how it works is it starts with having you create a character on a piece of paper. This character can look however you want it! You can make it have green big hair, big large shoulders, short little legs. The sky is the limit! Personally, I took this to my advantage and created I would like to think a cool little radio nerd.
As you can see he has some really cool shades, a boom box in hand, and some really funky looking limbs. I think he’s a pretty cool looking dude, if I say so myself.
The next part of the program asks you to upload your character and then select the different joints of the character you have created. It’s that simple!
And then……… you have your animation!

I would definitely use this tool within my classroom for students to adventure and play around with animation. I think it enhances students learning as they get to be hands on and create their own personalized learning paths as they are choosing what illustrations they are including. It also plays into the students interests and creativity.
It is important as educators to teach about the responsibility of uploading different animations as students uploads might be stored online through the processing network.
This tool would help to support different needs as it requires a more creative pathway rather than academic which allows all different types of learners to participate. It would depend on the project associated with this program but I believe students understanding can be measured by their ability to bring to life a character/object they made.
Overall, I think AI is a helpful tool within the classroom if it helps supports students thinking instead of thinking for them. AI is a tool that can be taken advantage of since it can postulate different thoughts based on a simple prompt. For that reason, it is important to be concious of the role it takes within teaching but that doesn’t mean it needs to be avoided. It is foolish to think that students won’t be exposed to AI in their lifetime, so instead teaching students how to use in a productive way will help how they use it in the future. I also think it is a great tool for teachers, as I think teachers do a lot of extra work creating rubrics, tests, outlines, etc,. AI can be useful to teachers to take off some workload, this being said, not every lesson should be crafted from AI.
Thank you for listening to my blog and I hope you watched my animation!
