…my life is boring.
This week I wanted to change it up from my usual vlog. In fact, I filmed a vlog for this week but ditched it because my life is kinda boring and I usually do the same things everyday anyways. So because the vlog got trashed, I had to come up with a new video to film.
So what was this idea I came up with?
According to this article by Vogue and my personal YouTube exploration, “Get Ready with Me” videos are becoming more popular (and I enjoy watching them) so I decided to take a crack at it. It really ended up being a conversation while I curled my hair, but I really felt the most like myself in this video, you can see my personality shine through, which an article by Clipchamp says is a great way to create community with viewers. It also suggested playing music throughout the video, which is advice I decided to follow. I also read an article by SassyBella, but it was kind of short and really just gave more ideas for videos.
Not only is this the longest video I’ve made, but it took a lot of time to edit as well. I had to cut 45 minutes down into about 10 minutes to keep it semi-entertaining. I have found that I do prefer sit down videos to mini-clip videos because
- I won’t have to fail to remember to video random parts of my day.
- There’s more time to show my personality and talk to the audience.
I made another thumbnail for this video and it was very hard for me to accept having my face in it lol. I also attempted making a mini-intro sequence which will probably have an appearance in upcoming videos as well.

I love Gilmore Girls – I just finished watching it all the way through for the 10th time. I am 100% team Logan. He is such a good boyfriend and is so sweet and ughh I just love him. I feel like he is the perfect person for Rory, he brings out the best in her! However, if I had to choose between Jess and Dean it would have to be Jess. Dean really annoys me and I don’t really know why – he just does.

Your decision to change this up and abandon your previous work is impressive. I think it paid off really well, and the new video looks great. I really liked how we also got to hear about you and anxiety especially. Honestly, how were you able to cut 45 to 10? That sounds like a challenge.
I am loving your personality in this! I love the way you edited it, it really feels honest and connects really easily. Very chill & I enjoyed watching. Would love to see you use a mic (on headphones is normally great) or an audio adjuster, I felt like it was a little bit quiet.
