Looking ahead to next semester and the three week block where I will be back in the classroom I have reflected upon professional goals I hope to work towards:
- Create relationships with the staff beyond my co-op teacher and immerse myself in activities around the school to gain knowledge and experience about what schools have to offer beyond the classroom and how to get involved.
- Gain more confidence in lesson planning, especially when planning for a full unit in the three week block.
- To speak up more in class and not be afraid of letting my opinion be heard. I usually sit back and listen to the conversation and do not often raise my hand to contribute as much as I should.
- Work on making meaningful relationships with my fellow pre-service teachers to have connections and outlets to continue alongside after my degree is obtained.
- Continue to develop my understandings of differentiated learning and apply what I know to my lessons and students in the classroom.
- I will work harder and be more conscious of the effort I put into incorporating treaty education in the classroom in a more meaningful way and with more frequent opportunities.
