My teaching philosophy revolves around guidance. What does that mean? In my dictionary, a true teacher is one who instils within their students important life skills. I don’t believe teaching is limited to just academic subjects, but it is just part of it. If students only focus on academic subjects and do not learn about valuable life skills, then I feel they are bound to have a difficult time in the future. As we know, teachers have a great amount of influence on students. If we can take the utmost advantage of this influence and provide them with healthy habits/life lessons, then I believe we’ve done our job. Essentially, teaching comes in many forms of responsibilities but at the heart of teaching is guidance. Developing students to become the best version of themselves, is what a true teacher ought to be.
