Blog Post #6- Citizenship

I used to believe that citizens were people who simply just lived in countries and were only citizens in society. I now believe that citizenship is what someone calls home. To many people, it could be debated because some individuals think that they are not a citizen unless an individual is born in the place, or grew up in that specific place, but that is not the case. I think growing up I had a very diverse classroom and I just believed that everyone in the class was of complete citizenship, because it felt like we all belonged and had a sense of togetherness. Now after the lecture, I understand that there is a lot more to citizenship like the amount of engagement within the community. The three types of citizens helped me understand more about citizenship.

I believe that implementing Treaty Education is important to implement as future educators. Growing up I did not get too much information on the Treaties and what they were or meant. I also believe that it needs to be talked about more and we as human beings need to do our own research on it. I think talking about this more can create a better sense of togetherness because more individuals will take the time to understand.
