Don’t Fret- Learning Guitar!
Hello, everyone!
For my learning project, I chose to learn how to play the guitar! The guitar is one instrument I’ve always wanted to know how to play, so I’m using this opportunity to kickstart the journey! My two older brothers as well as my sister-in-law all play the guitar, and my goal is to be able to play alongside them one day. Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a single musical bone in my body. I was in band for three years and still never understood how to read music. With that being said, I am starting the guitar as a complete beginner; basically, I can’t even hold the guitar right.
Weekly Plan
Week 1— Foundations and Basic Techniques
Week 2—Basic Notes and Chords
Week 3—Fingerpicking and Chord progressions
Week 4—Simple Riffs
Week 5—Advanced Techniques

It’s so nice to meet you and see your process through your learning journey of playing guitar. It actually seems like a difficult instrument to play. I remember in high school, for a class we had to learn how to play ‘happy birthday’. It was a bit difficult, but it was really fun once I got the hang of it. I know you will do amazing!

I too want to learn how to play guitar, not for the learning project, just in general. I debated doing it as my learning project but it lost to learning how to crochet. I can’t wait to see how it goes for you!
