Hello, everyone! My name is Heidi Spetz, and I am going into my third year of the elementary education program! I’m excited for this coming year as I get to be in the classroom more and learn from the students themselves. I am from and live in Swift Current, SK, but live in Regina during the fall/winter terms. I’m very happy and appreciative that online classes are available so that I’m able to be home with my family during the summer. I’m extremely close with my family and wouldn’t be where I am without their support. I grew up with my parents, two older brothers, and older sister. Despite having an age gap from my siblings, I am very close with each of them and have always been the “baby” of the family. Last year my niece, Violet, was born, which promoted me to auntie. I love being an aunt more than anything, which is kind of cliché, but I genuinely can’t wait to watch her grow up and teach her everything I know.

I’m not familiar with blogging and won’t lie that I’m a little nervous to start. Although I’m not sure if blogging is for me yet, I think it could be really fun once you get the hang of it. I’ve blogged before on UR Courses for classes, but never with this level of professionalism. I’m personally not a fan of doing it the way I have in the past, so I’m excited to try blogging this way—on a more personal level. I’m no stranger to a computer, but I also just know the basics rather than all the tips and tricks. I’m hoping this class will teach me new hacks as well as improve my confidence with technology.
