My Contribution Summary

My Contribution Summary

Hello everyone for the very last time! As we have now reached the end of EDTC300, we’ve done a lot of reflecting. At the very beginning of the course, we were told to keep track of the ways we contributed to the learning of others. We had many different opportunities where we could contribute, like the blogs, Discord, and Zoom meetings. All of this was a very new, slightly terrifying experience for me. I had no idea what to expect going into this, and opening myself up online to share was initially very scary. As it turns out, it wasn’t actually that scary, all because of the amazing support from everyone in this class. This might have been the most supportive class I’ve ever been a part of. Each week I felt way better about posting, knowing everyone was only there to encourage and uplift each other with nothing but positivity. I hope I was able to support you all as well as you supported me!

Blogs

The blog comments are where most of my contributions happened. Each week I commented on at least three different blogs. I was a little late some weeks, but I always commented in support no matter how late. I had a variety of different kinds of comments, including encouraging ones and making connections and relating to the topic of the blog post. Although I did a very poor job when it came to replying to others comments.

Here are all the comments I made throughout the course!

Discord (Class Community)

I really lacked when it came to the Discord. I fully intended to be present and contribute to the discord, but I only did a couple of things. I did the very first introductory post on Discord, and I asked a question to the chat. I actually downloaded Discord on my phone AND had notifications turned on, so why the scarce contributing? Honestly, every question that was asked, except for maybe like 3, I had no idea what the answer was. I wish I could have been more helpful, but to the people that knew the answers, thank you so much. I learned something I didn’t know from basically every question asked and each answer replied. Although I wasn’t able to contribute greatly, I found the Discord to be an extremely helpful tool as a class.

Zoom

Although I don’t have any pieces of evidence, I also tried my best to contribute in our Zoom meetings. In each breakout room, I consistently had my camera on and was a part of the discussion. I commented in the chat when I could as well.

 Final Thoughts

I definitely planned on being more active and helpful within the course community than I was. Where there were some areas I lacked in, there were others that made up for it. I think my comments on others blogs are where I was able to contribute the most. I found comments on my blogs to be super rewarding and encouraging, which made me want to return the favor to everyone else. Throughout the course I was able to learn many new things about blogging, technology, and the media. I have a completely new perspective and appreciation for technology and all the things it’s capable of. I will carry this course with me every day I’m using tech. The outpouring of support and knowledge from all my classmates made this journey possible. Thank you.
