Summary of Learning Ft. Benji Boy

Wow, another semester over. I’m now done 7/10 courses towards my MEd. I’m getting close to the homestretch. Thanks to everyone in the class for making this hectic semester enjoyable. This is the first semester where I’ve taken two grad classes at the same time and while working. It definitely offered some challenges. I can’t wait to watch everyone’s videos!

  1. It was interesting to see your reflection from the perspective of your cat!! Enjoyed it!! Also fun to hear about teaching at Harvard for 32 years!! Looked classic.. you have also brought out the challenges we have faced and the issues with online and blended learning and accessibility quite well!!

  2. Hey Greg (and Benji)! This was an awesome way of reflecting, Benji’s questions and attitude had me engaged lol! You hit the nail on the head on a lot of the main concepts from our class. I particularly resonate with your focus on creating engaging environments. When we do this, the teaching almost does itself as we have “tricked” the students into learning! I’ve enjoyed taking the course with you and have learned from they way you’ve been integrating tech into your synchronous classes! All the best to you as you finish off your degree!

  3. Ooooh Benji boy….Indeed, the world is more digital, and it’s opening up a lot of possibilities for students and teachers. Thanks again for reminding me about the importance of creating an engaging online learning environment using games and interactive materials that can help them stay glued to the class until the end. I like the way you explained all the key points to Benji and I believe this will help him. Thanks for sharing Greg.

  4. This was such a creative and entertaining way to wrap up your EC&I 834 journey! The pacing, humour, and reflections all worked together so well—and Benji Boy was an absolute scene-stealer. 😄 I’ve really appreciated your continuous humour throughout the course; your posts and videos always managed to be both hilarious and insightful. You have a real talent for delivering the perfect summary—engaging, clear, and never boring!

One question I had: Looking back, is there a specific moment or tool that you feel really flipped your thinking about what online learning can be?

Awesome job—this was a joy to watch and such a memorable way to reflect!

    • Great work as always Greg! Dropped some much needed knowledge on Benji who it sounds like really needed these lessons. I love that you incorporate an LMS in your in person classroom even if it’s just to provide them with resources or keep them up to date if they miss a lesson. You’ve captured the course perfectly and, even though you sounded like you have doubts, I’m confident you’d crush a fully remote course if it was asked of you!

  5. Greg, huge congratulations on making it through such a busy semester—and being 7/10 courses into your MEd is no small feat! Balancing two grad classes while working is impressive, and it’s awesome to hear that the class community made it enjoyable. I also have to say—using your cat (Benji) in your Summary of Learning video was such a fun and creative touch! It added personality and warmth, and made your reflection even more memorable. Wishing you all the best as you head into the final stretch of your program. You’re almost there—keep going strong!
