For this week I decided to use Youtube as my tool to help me learn my first song. I had been practicing all week with a video posted by Ricky Somborn. I would take time to pause the video and play at my own pace. I’m still in the learning process, so I had to adapt it to my own pace. I did try a couple of times to keep up with his pace, but was very unsuccessful. I hope to one day play at the same pace as him. I appreciated how he organized his video with chords on the side and notes above them. Then the notes were on top of the words. I do know how to read music and this way made it very easy for me to understand. To use the SAMR in the classroom, students can watch videos about a topic. Later on, they can make their video to teach others about what they learned.
For this week I decided to use iMovie on my MacBook. I had never used this before and found it a bit challenging at first but think I got the job done. I had to upload the video to YouTube because my file was too big.
Jaida,
You should be really proud of your progress! You are already crushing it and only on your first song. I really liked the importance you placed on going at your own pace. That is advice I also need when learning a new skill… like right now haha. It can be frustrating starting out, but I can assure you that you are doing an amazing job! I am excited to see your progress next week.
Keep up the amazing work,
Emma
The uke is sounding great. Great work! Your chord progressions were smooth and natural. I hope to catch up to you on the guitar. Inspiring. Thank you for the share!

Hi Jaida!
I am so impressed with your video! I have attempted that same song so many times and have always struggled. You have inspired me to dust off my ukulele and try again! iMovie can be tricky at first. I think once you get the hang of it, it’s a really great tool, I just wish it had more features.
Can’t wait to see what you do next!
Hey Jaida,
Be so proud of your progress, you are doing so great! Can’t wait to see what this will all look like in a month!
Also, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your title for this blog post!
Thanks for sharing!!!!
Hi Jaida, This is great!! I think it is so important having good resources to help the learning process. Being able to play at your own pace as well as, go through a helpful video just shows you are on the right track! The video sounds super good, great work!
